Produce Your Cause

Isaiah 41 v 21 "Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob".

Isaiah 43 v 15 "I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King".

Isaiah 43 v 16 "Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters".

Do you have a "cause" that needs answering by the Holy One? A cause is defined as a case, or a matter or question to be decided. The LORD says to present it before Him, let Him know your reasons, and He will make a decision, a way that will be right.

When I was in the Army, I worked in the personnel field. Often, I had cases that only the Commanding General could make the final decision, either approving or disapproving the case presented before him. I had to write many of these "decision" papers. The pending case had to be written up, and had to include the problem, facts bearing on the problem, discussion of the problem, supporting documentation, and a bottom line that recommended the Commanding General either approve or disapprove the case.

When strong "reasons" were clearly documented, the Commanding General could easily come to a conclusion as to the right course of action to be taken. Often the decision papers I presented were approved or disapproved with no comments from the Commanding General. Sometimes, the General would write comments, or approve with slight modifications. When I had his signature on the decision paper, my case was decided, and I knew the clear path to take.

All my Army experience was not in vain. Many times, I have written "decision papers" to the Commander-in-Chief of all heaven and earth. I write down my case in a similar manner as I did when I was in the Army, addressing it to the LORD of all things. I then spread it before Him, and pray, and ask that a decision be made. There is something about writing a paper like this, it is intimate to the only One who can help, the LORD is His name. I have often received marvelous answers to these "decision papers".

I first started doing this when I read Isaiah 41 v 21. Produce your case before the LORD.

Isaiah 37 v 14 "And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD".

Isaiah 37 v 15 "And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying".

Famine

Amos 8 v 11 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:"

Many people are hungry for physical bread and thirsty for a cool drink of physical water. Right here in America, there is plenty of food and water to drink. If one has the money, all types of food and the very best bottled water can be bought. We have all had times where we became very hungry or very thirsty, and the food we ate and the water we drank satisfied our hungry bodies.

There is another kind of hunger that can not be bought or sold for any amount of money. The hunger and thirst that can only be filled from that manna sent by God and the cool refreshing living water sent by the Holy Spirit. The LORD GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the only one that can fulfill that need.

Many people throughout the land are hungry to hear a word from the LORD. They will ask, "Do you have a word from the LORD for me?" Or, "Pray for me and ask the LORD to give me a word for this situation I am facing." Many are running to and fro from place to place seeking a word from the LORD. Many times they are disappointed, let down when they did not hear a word from the LORD. Many hungry folks go to a church, eagerly anticipating to hear a word from the LORD. Time after time, they come home disappointed. Why is this so?

Is it because the LORD has sent a famine in the land? Or maybe it is because they have not called upon Him for a word. I believe the LORD wants his children to hear His words, He wants to feed his children with that heavenly manna, and He wants to give them that cool refreshing water.

There is an old gospel song that goes "Pass me not, O gentle Savior, hear my humble cry, while on others thou art calling, do not passs me by". The key words in this song are "humble cry". To be humble before God is to respect the LORD GOD for who He is...the giver and taker of life, and the one who supplies our heavenly food and water. The weeping prophet Jeremiah put it so well, "Call unto me and I will answer theee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not".

Hosea said these words, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee". What is this thing called knowledge? Proverbs 2 verses 3-6 "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding".

My prayer is that the LORD GOD would open our ears to hear from him, that we would seek His face in all our ways. Time is becoming short, and we all need to hear words from the LORD.

Luke 15 v 17 "And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger?"

Somebody Touched Me!

Luke 8 v 43 "And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, v 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment; and immediately her issue of blood stanched"

I preached a sermon on this Sunday, September 3, 2006, at Waycross Rehab Center, a home for the infirmed and elderly. Here was a woman that had spent 12 long years seeking relief from her suffering. She had not only spent all her time and effort trying to get healed, but had also spent all of her money going from doctor to doctor.

When all of her resources were gone, and she had reached desperation, she reached out to a man called Jesus. Mind you, there was a large crowd of people, and I can just imagine how much effort it took for the woman to get close enough to Jesus just to touch the hem of his garment. Jesus immediately knew that someone touched him because he felt in his body the power of the healing virtue that went out. The woman was singled out, no longer a voiceless face in the crowd, but a newly healed woman with a story to share. She testified to Jesus before the whole crowd how she was immediately healed when she had touched Jesus.

Jesus then spoke these words to her in verse 48 "And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace".

Notice Jesus called her daughter...she was now His child and he loved her, healed her, and gave her words of encouragement. Many women in this world have longed to be loved and called daughter by their earthly Dads. Sadly, many dads have been absent when their daughters needed them. Jesus is never absent...call unto him.

Reach out to Jesus, He is reaching out to you.

There were approximately 30 residents at that service Sunday morning...most in wheel chairs, some without arms or legs. But they all had made an effort to reach out to Jesus, and that Sunday morning service was one I will never forget...tears were flowing, amens were ringing out, and the presence of the Lord was there in a real way.

I also preached on John 21 verses 1-13.

Pray for all residents of nursing homes.

May God touch you in a special way I pray.

Malnutrition

Malnutrition

Many people are suffering from this ailment
Some live in a fancy house and some live in a tent
Lack of nutritional food is the root of many fears
And can shorten one's life spanspan by many years

Vegetables, meat, bread and milk are healthy foods
A proper diet is essential to maintain level moods
To have plenty to eat is a blessing from above
To share a meal with others is an example of love

Another kind of malnutrition is one not often heard
I am talking about the bread in God's Holy Word
Daily heavenly manna is a food that we all need
On the meat of the Word of God all should daily feed

Many of God's children are suffering from this lack
Why won't we eat a full course instead of a Sunday snack
We must be weaned from milk before we get the meat
The Lord's table is spread with plenty for all to eat
