Almost Home
I preach at a nursing home to just a few
They sit in wheelchairs instead of a pew
Most are disabled and sick in many ways
But the glory comes down as many prays
I look out and see tears streaming down faces
As their hearts longs for the heavenly places
Soon they will walk on those golden streets
And see the place where the angel choir meets
They clap their hands as we sing "I'll Fly Away"
Maybe some will go to be with Jesus this very day
Everyone attending was once a little girl or boy
I am sure they were their parents' pride and joy
Now their twilight years are here
And the end of their life is very near
Soon they will lay their burdens down
And go receive their well earned crown
